"Courtship" is a seventh season episode of the television series Law & Order: Criminal Intent.
Detectives Logan and Falacci investigate the shooting murder of the wife of a New York Supreme Court judge.
Christine Mayfield had dealings, even had an affair, with the judge to curry favor in her divorce proceeding against her movie star husband Clay Darren (and the judge subsequently did rule in her favor). Christine manipulated her private investigator, Ronald Hawk, into framing her husband. Christine killed the judge's wife with one of the guns she stole from Hawk's gun collection. Then she coached her son Clay Jr. to frame Hawk with the gun. The detectives had to demonstrate to her ex-husband and her private investigator/lover how she had manipulated both of them before they would turn against her and poke holes in her stories.
